The United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH), recorded an alarming occupation rate of 804% on the 2nd of July 2015. This figure is based on the imposed International Norm of 4.5m² per person. Data as published by the State authority (450%), is based on a norm of 2.5 m² per prisoner and as such, differs from the above given figure. These data were calculated based on the number of bed spaces available and not based on the surface area, and therefore, do not comply with the minimum international requirements.
