The Unmasking truth: Combatting Disinformation on rights of people in prison project is designed to enhance the quality and accessibility of information on prison issues and human rights, by producing and disseminating fact-checking materials. The project focuses on the dissemination of reliable news, contributing to a trustworthy media environment, and enhancing professional synergies between journalists and media organisations.
The objectives are threefold:

To bring reliable news and information by producing fact-checking articles to respond to misconceptions about prisons and creating visual material for social media channels to disseminate fact-checking posts.

To contribute to a trustworthy media environment in Europe through fact-checking pieces of news and information: producing investigative articles focusing on prison issues and human rights in Europe, and producing news briefs

To enhance the synergies between professionals : mapping European fact-checking and investigative journalism organisations and networks to exchange practices and synergies.
The methodology includes leveraging existing data, country profiles, and thematic papers to create fact-checking materials. In order to achieve high-quality outputs efficiently, collaborations with freelance journalists, media platforms, and civil society organisations are fostered.
