United States: gang revolt at Florida prison injures 1 inmate, 7 officers

A gang revolt at a Florida state prison injured seven corrections officers and one inmate Wednesday morning, authorities said. 

The riot happened at about 8 a.m at Gulf Correctional Institution, located east of Panama City. The incident spread across several dorms and took nearly a half-hour to get under control, according to the Miami Herald. 

The injured people were taken to a hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries, the Herald reported.
