Italy: govt launches jail suicide plan

Justice Minister Andrea Orlando on Wednesday said launched a plan to stem prison suicides, which he called a “worrying and intolerable phenomenon”.

Orlando said he had already issued a directive aimed at “raising the level of attention, boosting at the same time the measures that in each prison are already taken to prevent self-harming”.
